The NAPGC Senior Championship's for both Men and Ladies returned to it's favourite venue of West Middlesex for 2017 . Set amidst the hustle and bustle of West London, this gem of a course proved once again what a challenge it is with lots of very interesting holes and difficult greens which were in superb condition.
The Ladies were the first to brave the elements as the rain continued to fall making waterproofs and brollies the order of the day.The number of players was slightly down on last year but nevertheless still competitive. The Ladies Individual Senior Champion and winner of the Barbara Rainey Bowl was Cheng Loo from Haste Hill with 33 points with last years champion Di Heavey (Hoebridge) in second place with 32 points. Madge Henry from Perivale Park in her first NAPGC competition was third with 31 points. This year the NAPGC introduced the NAPGC Trophy for the best individual gross score which was won by Sandra Combstock from Hoebridge with 24 points. The Reg Pugh Shield for the best aggregate nett score of the two player teams, were last years champions Di Heavey & Sandra Combstock from Hoebridge, who won on count back from Cheng Loo and Gill Manion from Haste Hill- both had 61 points.

Steve will now go on to represent the NAPGC in the EG Senior Men's County Champion of Champions competiton at Woodhall Spa in September.
