CHERWELL EDGE GOLF CLUB – Sunday 28th April 2019
The first NAPGC finals for 2019 were held, as in previous years, at Cherwell Edge Golf Club, Oxfordshire. After the previous days gale force winds, a byproduct of storm Hannah, we were greeted by overcast skies with a slight breeze – prefect conditions for an excellent days golf. Seven Ladies’ teams from an initial entry of twenty one teams battled through the rounds of this winter competition to contest the final.
The ladies started the proceedings producing some very goods scores -the best score of the entire day came from Bernie Howe (Abbey Hill) who came in with an impressive 41 points.
In the end only one point separated the top two teams – Easthampsted Ladies (Karen Foan, Sam Cook and Maria Belgrano) just scraping in ahead with 103 combined Stableford points to Haste Hills’ 102 points (Diana Wallace, Wendy Barr and Oikam Lee.)
