NAPGC Newsletter February 2018.
NAPGC 2018 AGM
Thank you to all the clubs who attended our AGM at Harefield Golf Club on 27th January. In AOB, a discussion took place about NAPGC club affiliation fees and competition costs. The NAPGC Board has agreed to carry out a full survey seeking engagement and feedback from all clubs – your input will be extremely important.
On September 8th, we plan to call an EGM, which will include discussing with club representatives the findings and recommendations from the membership survey in more detail and agreeing the fees structure for 2019 and beyond. We would be grateful if all clubs could try to attend, so that we can plan for the NAPGC future together.
Ed and Jane Mitchell
You will be aware from earlier communications that Ed and Jane retired from office at the AGM. We can now report that after discussion they have agreed to continue in their roles as Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively for a short period, which will enable the NAPGC Board to review roles and responsibilities, make appropriate handover arrangements and put in place a management structure for the future. We are grateful for their support during this period and will aim to update clubs on the new structure later in the Spring.
Competitions for 2018
By now all clubs should have received the relevant entry information for all our competitions in 2018 (these are also available on the NAPGC website). We really value your support and hope you will again be participating in a range of events. The running knock-out events all close for entries at the end of February, with the draws being made on Saturday 3rd March. If you still need to enter these then please do so now. Our Super “Finals” weekend is a little earlier this year. It’s on 1st, 2nd and 3rd September, when we return to Frilford Heath Golf Club.
Jeff Retallic, the NAPGC Junior Organiser, will be organising several junior golf events in 2018; including at Hainault, Warley Wood and Wexham Park Golf Clubs. We want to support all our junior golfers and seek their participation, please email Jeff on email@example.com for more information. We are also reviewing our wider use and distribution of junior funds so any suggestions you have would be welcomed.
Handbook and Website
The NAPGC handbook is being updated and we will let clubs know via email on completion. Sandra has recently updated our website in preparation for 2018 season. The handling of data (particularly personal data) are key to our considerations with legislative change being brought about by the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) that come into force at the end of May.
Clubs should have received for the following competition entry forms:
- Clapham Common.
- Hawtree Trophy.
- Whitewebbs Shield.
- Siemens Bowl.
- Ladies TopRock Bowl.
- Men's Toprock salver
- Men's Better Ball Match PlayTrophy
- Ladies Match Play Trophy
Closing Date for all these competitions is 28th February 2018.
Please contact Ed Mitchell on 01527542106 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have not received or if you need more information on any of these competitions.
Alternatively you may wish to check out the full details on our website www.napgc.org.uk or view on the NAPGC Facebook page.
