The Mary and Gordon Forster Competitions are now open for registration.

The competition is open to amateur golfers who are who are bona-fide members of a golf club affiliated to a County Golf Union and England Golf and which plays over a Public or Proprietary Course with no restrictions as to public access. All competitors MUST have a WHS competition handicap.

Competition Formats

The Gordon Forster

A team will comprise four men (but it does not have to be the same four players in every match). All players to play 18 holes individual stableford. Two players will play at home and two away in four ball groupings. The team score shall be the aggregate stableford points from home and away. Play is Stableford with players entitled to 95% of their course handicap. The maximum playing handicap is 24.0

Clubs may enter as many teams as they wish. The Competition Organiser will endeavour to place teams from the same club into different Areas. Areas will be dependent on numbers of entries but there will be no more than 32 teams in any one area. Subject to the number of entries, up to 10 teams will play at the National Final.

The Mary Forster

A team will comprise three ladies (but it does not have to be the same three players in every match). All players to play 18 holes individual stableford with the team score being the aggregate stableford score. The maximum Handicap Index is 36, then Playing Handicap of 95% of Course Handicap 

Clubs may enter as many teams as they wish and initial play will be in groups with the Competition Organiser endeavouring to place teams in groups of three (or more if entries are high). One fixture to be played at each course (even if two teams come from the same course). Subject to the number of entries/groups 6 teams will play at the national final.

 

The finals for the Mary & Gordon Forster will take place at Gaudet Luce on 28th April
